Parameters are one of the features that make Tableau a truly unique tool. They can be used for a variety of purposes:

• Changing the top number of values being displayed

• Switching a value

• Switching a field

• Giving the end user sorting options

• Customizing labels

In addition, two new parameter features have released in 2019-20; Parameters Actions and Dynamic Parameters.
