I know the majority of folks that read this blog find it through a Google search when troubleshooting a problem and that’s great. We are so happy this resource has been helpful in that way.
I also know that there are some weekly readers of this blog who’ve been following along for months or years.
As we’re gearing up for the Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States, I got to wondering, “Am I going to publish a blog post on Thanksgiving morning?”. A detailed post about a Tableau process didn’t seem appropriate this week (don’t worry, those are coming back next week). However, what did seem appropriate was a message to all of you.
First, thank you for being along for the ride. When Kirk and I founded OneNumber 4 years ago, we really didn’t know where this journey was going to take us. We knew that we needed a change of scenery and wanted to truly help people.
One of the biggest challenges of running a company that does consulting is the temptation to take a project even when it isn’t a great fit. We decided from the beginning that we only wanted to work on projects that we felt like would really make a difference and would be a great working environment for everyone involved.
We were also looking for more freedom to conduct business and express ourselves in our own unique ways. I really appreciate having this blog as a platform to connect with this community, help people solve their problems and to share whatever random ideas I’m thinking about in the realms of sports, books, analytics, etc.
It is so mind-blowing to me that because of classes, webinars, referrals, projects and connecting over the blog that I’ve gotten the privilege to work with you all.
Thank you for giving us this opportunity. This Thanksgiving, we are grateful for you. We wouldn’t be here without you.
