Parameters are a powerful tool in Tableau. They allow end users to customize the view that they're seeing by selecting pre-defined values.

But where do we begin when using parameters? Well, the "Swap-A-Field" Parameter is the perfect place!

We're going to build views that allow us to:

  1. Swap a Measure with a parameter

  2. Swap a Dimension with a parameter

  3. Swap a Sort Order with a parameter

While this video provides some of the basics for using parameters, it's by no means exhaustive.

If you'd like a deep-dive into how to use parameters effectively and creatively in Tableau, why not come along to our Mastering Tableau Calculations II Class?
