This is an advanced, 9-hour course for experienced Tableau users. It covers accelerated concepts you won't find in other Tableau trainings. If you think you've seen it all but want to keep learning, this is for you! It covers concepts and use cases that aren't covered in any official Tableau course.

DAY ONE:

1. Data Preparation, Tableau Relationships, Data Scaffolding, Joining a Table to Itself

2. Tableau Prep, Cross Joins, Creating Missing Data, Fuzzy Matching

DAY TWO:

3. Date Calculations, Date Difference in Business Days, Accounting for Leap Years, Week to Date Calculations, Progress This Year Versus Previous Years, Nested Level of Detail Expressions

4. Set Actions, Color Scaling, Proportional Brushing, Asymmetric Drilldown, Highlight User Selection

DAY THREE:

5. Parameters, Sorting, Filtering on a Top Percent of Values, Time Zone Switch, Dynamic Parameters

6. Visual Tricks, Expanding and Contracting Worksheets, Transparent Background Images, Selection-Based Image Swap, Creating a Subtitle that Highlights Filtered Fields

REQUIREMENTS

• A Laptop

• A Second Monitor (Strongly recommended)

• Tableau Desktop Professional 2018.3 or Later

• Tableau Prep Builder 2018.3 or Later

PREREQUISITES

Advanced Tableau skills. You should be able to do the following:

• Connect to a data source

• Understand the difference between measures and dimensions

• Be able to build calculated fields on your own

• Build a basic dashboard
